Revelada em 1983, por Maurice Pialat, no filme “Aos Nossos Amores” (A nos amours), a adolescente ávida de liberdade foi recompensada com um César de melhor revelação feminina. Sandrine Bonnaire é uma atriz de destaque no cinema de autor: já foi dirigida por Jacques Doillon, André Téchiné, Claude Sautet, Patrice Leconte, Agnès Varda, Jacques Rivette e Claude Chabrol.
Ao longo de sua trajetória, a atriz interpretou papéis fortes em filmes de diretores exigentes. A Mostra em homenagem a Sandrine Bonnaire conta com o documentário, dirigido por ela: “O Nome dela é Sabine” (Elle s’appelle Sabine), que mostra um olhar sensível sobre o mundo dos autistas, selecionado na ‘Quinzaine des réalisateurs’, em 2007. Também serão exibidos outros dois filmes: “Poderá ser amor? ” (Je crois que je l’aime), de Pierre Jolivet e o drama sensível “A Puritana”   (La Puritaine), de Jacques Doillon.
